ATLANTA, Ga. - Clark Atlanta softball recognized the 2016 batch of seniors before the start of the doubleheader versus Talladega; the teams split the two games with CAU winning the opening game in come-from-behind fashion.

HOW IT HAPPENED GAME 1:Clark Atlanta got on the scoreboard first with a second inning 2-run homerun by
Ki'esha Young scoring
Jessica Vason.
Talladega scored six consecutive runs to take the 6-2 lead after the top of the fourth.
Young scored in the fourth on the RBI single by fellow senior
Briana Aldridge.
Three runs in the home fifth tied the game, 6-6.
Sharnitra Woods scored on the sacrifice fly by Vason ahead of
Zhandria Usher and Young scoring on later plays.
Clark Atlanta secured the victory with two runs in the sixth inning with seniors Aldridge and
Ashley Nelson scoring the final runs.
Sharnitra Woods went 3-for-4 with Young and Aldridge each tallying two hits.
Ajada Cofield (6-14) pitched the final 3.1 innings in relief to pick up the victory allowing just one hit and striking out three batters after replacing
Shalonda Woods.

Talladega scored nine straight runs and held the 9-2 lead heading to the bottom of the seventh.
Kendall Washington added an RBI single to left centerfield scoring
Jolene Nazaire who entered the game as a pinch runner for
Tamera Green.
Cofield went 2-for-3 at the plate for her first multi-hit game of her career. She was the lone Panther to record multiple hits in the game. Cofield (6-15) pitched the first 4.0 innings and took the loss by surrendering eight hits and five runs - two earned.
THE NUMBERS:Game 1: 8 runs, 12 hits, 2 error
Game 2: 3 runs, 7 hits, 4 errors
Young scored three times in the first game of the day - she entered the day with just seven runs scored on the season.
Six of the eight first game runs were scored by the senior class.
In the second game, Clark Atlanta pitchers failed to record a strikeout for just the second time this season having done so against West Georgia on Mar. 29.
